Bukhara
Bukhara, Uzbekistan. Spring 2022.
My journey led to central part of Uzbekistan. I got to Bukhara on regular train in a VIP coupe which cost me about 30$. I fell in love with this ancient city and spend most of the time here. The atmosphere of the city is amazing. Yes, it’s more touristic than Samarkand and much smaller, but on the other hand, it is the place where you really feel the energy of the past ages. It’s completely different from post-soviet Tashkent. It was a prominent stop on the Silk Road trade route between the East and the West, and a major medieval center for Islamic theology and culture. Bukhara has about 140 architectural monuments. UNESCO has listed the historic center of Bukhara as a World Heritage Site. It’s definitely a must-see!
